Doing breakfast right…at McDonald's?

So I was watching the morning news while I was getting ready for work and an announcer said, "You only get one breakfast, so do it right."

I thought this might lead into an ad for one of those semi-healthy breakfast cereals that promise "whole grains" and then deliver more carbs than FrootLoops - something like that.

It turned out to be a pitch for a McDonald's special offer: Two bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits for the price of one.

You only get one breakfast? How is that only ONE breakfast?

And as for the "doing it right" part, I checked the McDonald's web site. Here are the nutrition totals for two of these B.E.&C. biscuit creations:

  • 860 calories
  • 24 grams of saturated fat
  • Zero grams of trans fats per serving (but you know how THAT goes - the biscuits and eggs are prepared with liquid margarine)
  • 74 grams of carbohydrates
  • 3,690 mg of sodium

Yikes! If that's doing it right, I'll take whatever's wrong, please.
